For the last few weeks, when I get in a particularly bad mood at work, I listen to Green Day's American Idiot, and it perks me right up (ok, well sort of - as perked up as I can get at work).

What do you listen to as a means to an improved mood?

Honestly? I listen to tracks off of Hole's "Celebrity Skin" album. Mostly because it's pretty awesome (even if most of it was written by Billy Corgan) but a little because I know I'm not as fucked up as Courtney Love.

Anything by Radiohead or Bob Mould/Sgar dies the trick for me, which makes no sense since they are such dark artists...or Dwight Yoakam - go figure.

Celebrity Skin is a great album. I sometimes listen to it while I blog.

Funny you should mention Hole, Mish. Live Through This used to do it for me.

Now, I gotta say, I don't have a clear-cut formula.

i don't listen to anything in particular to improve my mood. i usually have elvis costello in heavy rotation on my iPod, just because he's got a huge catalog. it's almost like having a morphine drip, he's so soothing. i also love the fiery furnaces and the white stripes wheni want to get pumped up and working.

but when i'm temping, i love to play the arctic monkeys "perhaps vampires is a bit strong but..." just for the line where they wail "ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE VAMPIRES, AND YOUR STORIES ARE STALE..." ahhh sweet serenity...

Wilco is my fav band right now. LOVE them! I've got tickets to go see Jeff Tweedy on the 17th too. Can't wait to lift my shirt and flash him.
