In honor of the Olympics, about 6,000 knitters on Ravelry signed up to complete a project during the Olympics. You could not cast on until the opening ceremonies, and had to finish before the end of the closing ceremonies - both based on Beijing time. I finished my socks about 12 hours early . . .

Yay, me!
And I can now proudly display my bouquet and medal!

They turned out super-cute!

Have you ever made "mousetrap" socks? You make them the long way and then have a huge Kitchener seam to do at the end. I made my first pair of socks that way, baptism by fire, but they turned out to be great "around-the-house socks." They are in garter stitch so a little less comfortable under footwear.

Congratulations, you should receive a gold medal in the knitting competition... Maybe it's time to give out some additional metals.

I give those socks a 10! Perfect score, and the gold medal in sock knitting goes to Diane!
